Aventics directional control valves are directional control valves with two or more flow patterns and two or more ports. They are valves used to achieve communication, cut-off, and reversal of hydraulic oil flow, as well as pressure unloading and sequential action control. Aventics directional control valves rely on the relative movement of the valve core and valve body to control the direction of fluid flow. There are two types: rotary valves and spool valves. They are classified by the number of working positions the valve core can occupy within the valve body, such as two-position and three-position valves; and by the number of oil passages connected to the valve body, such as two-way, three-way, four-way, and six-way valves. The valve core can be operated manually, mechanically, electrically, hydraulically, or electro-hydraulically.

Aventics directional control valve introduction:

Aventics directional control valves, also known as Kreutz valves, are a type of valve with multi-directional adjustable channels, allowing for timely changes in fluid flow direction. They can be classified as manual directional control valves, solenoid directional control valves, and electro-hydraulic directional control valves.

During operation, an external drive mechanism rotates the drive shaft, which in turn drives the rocker arm, actuating the valve plate. This causes the working fluid to flow from the left inlet to the lower outlet of the valve, and then from the right inlet to the lower outlet, achieving the purpose of periodically changing the flow direction.

This type of directional control valve has wide applications in petroleum and chemical production, and is commonly used in synthetic ammonia gasification systems. In addition, the directional valve can also be made into a disc-type structure, which is mostly used in applications with smaller flow rates. During operation, simply turn the handwheel to change the flow direction of the working fluid through the disc.

Aventics Directional Valve Working Principle

The six-way directional valve is mainly composed of valve body, sealing components, cam, valve stem, handle, and valve cover (Figure 1). The valve is driven by the handle, which drives the valve stem and cam to rotate. The cam has the functions of positioning, driving, and locking the opening and closing of the sealing components. When the handle is rotated counterclockwise, the two sets of sealing components close the two lower channels under the action of the cam, and the two upper channels are connected to the inlet of the pipeline device. Conversely, the two upper channels are closed, and the two lower channels are connected to the inlet of the pipeline device, realizing non-stop directional switching.

(1) The valve body of the six-way valve is divided into two chambers by a partition. Each chamber has three channels, with the middle one being the oil inlet and the two ends being the oil outlets. The valve body is a welded carbon steel plate structure, small in size, light in weight, and compact in structure, which improves material utilization, shortens the production cycle, and reduces costs. The sealing surface is overlaid with stainless steel, providing rust and corrosion resistance. After precision machining, the sealing surface is polished and ground, with a surface roughness Ra≤0.8μm.

(2) The six-way valve has two sets of sealing components. Each sealing component (Figure 2) consists of a valve disc, sealing ring, adjusting block, adjusting screw, clamping plate, and bolts. The valve disc is a welded carbon steel plate component with reinforcing ribs, which both increase the strength of the valve disc and provide guidance, ensuring the coaxiality between each set of valve discs. A polyurethane rubber ring is embedded on the valve disc; this material is oil-resistant, wear-resistant, has stable performance, good sealing, and a long service life. Under the action of the cam, the spherical surface of the sealing ring contacts the sealing surface of the valve body, generating compressive elastic deformation to achieve a sealing effect. The adjusting block and adjusting screw can adjust the two sets of sealing components when they cannot be in place synchronously, ensuring that the sealing performance of each channel is synchronized. 1. (3) The axial seal between the valve stem and the valve body partition and upper valve cover uses an O-ring.

(4) Copper sleeves are inlaid in the shaft holes of the valve body partition and upper valve cover to reduce the frictional torque between the valve and the O-ring, ensuring flexible opening and closing of the sealing assembly with low operating torque.
