ATOS solenoid valves use a single solenoid coil to generate magnetic attraction that overcomes spring pressure, actuating the valve core. They are simple in structure, inexpensive, and only function as on/off valves.

1. Solenoid Valves: Used for on/off control of liquid and gas pipelines, they are two-position (DO) valves. Generally used for small pipelines.

2. Solenoid Valves: Can only be used for on/off control, it's a direct-acting (DO) valve, only suitable for small pipelines, commonly found in DN50 and below, rarely larger.

Differences between Electric Valves and Solenoid Valves:

ATOS solenoid valves use a single solenoid coil to generate magnetic attraction, overcoming spring pressure to move the valve core. They are simple in structure, inexpensive, and can only perform on/off control.

Electric valves use an electric motor to drive the valve stem, which in turn moves the valve core. Electric valves are further divided into shut-off valves and regulating valves. Shut-off valves operate in two positions (fully open and fully closed), while regulating valves have an electric valve positioner installed, using closed-loop regulation to dynamically stabilize the valve in a specific position.

1. On/Off Type:

ATOS solenoid valves are driven by a coil and can only open or close, with a short on/off time.

Electric valves are generally driven by a motor, requiring a certain time to complete the opening or closing action, and can be used for regulation.

2. Working Nature:

ATOS solenoid valves generally have a very small flow coefficient and a very small working pressure difference. For example, the flow coefficient of a 25mm solenoid valve is significantly smaller than that of a 15mm electric ball valve. Solenoid valves are driven by an electromagnetic coil, making them more susceptible to damage from voltage surges. They function essentially as a switch, with only two actions: opening and closing.

Electric valves are typically driven by a motor, making them more resistant to voltage surges. Solenoid valves are quick-opening and quick-closing, generally used in applications with low flow rates and low pressures, requiring high switching frequencies, while electric valves are the opposite. The opening degree of an electric valve can be controlled, with states including open, closed, and partially open/closed, allowing control of the flow rate of the medium in the pipeline, a requirement that solenoid valves cannot meet.

Solenoid valves generally reset upon de-energization, while electric valves require a reset device for this function.

3. Applicable Processes:

ATOS solenoid valves are suitable for some special process requirements, such as leakage or special fluid media, but they are more expensive.

Electric valves are generally used for regulation, but some are used for on/off control, such as in fan coil unit terminals.
