Working principle of ATOS proportional pressure cartridge valve
$409.33
The ATOS proportional pressure cartridge valve assembly consists of a valve core, valve sleeve, spring, and sealing ring. Depending on the application, it is divided into directional valve assemblies, pressure valve assemblies, and flow valve assemblies. For the same nominal diameter, the three types of assemblies have the same mounting dimensions, but the valve core structure and valve sleeve seat diameter differ. All three types of assemblies have two main ports A and B, and one control port x.

ATOS Cartridge Valve Unit Operating States: Let the pressures at ports A, B, and x be pA, pB, and px respectively, and their effective areas be AA, AB, and Ax respectively. The return spring force at the upper end of the valve core is Ft. When pxAx + Ft > pAAA + pBAB, the valve is closed; when pxAx + Ft ≤ pAAA + pBAB, the valve is open.
In actual operation, the force on the valve core is controlled by the oil flow through port x.
When X returns to the oil tank, the valve is open;
When x is connected to the inlet port, the valve is closed.
A valve that changes the oil flow pattern at the port is called a pilot valve.
The importance of the versatility of the valve orifice design in ATOS cartridge valves lies in mass production. For example, for a specific size of cartridge valve, the orifice size is standardized for mass production. Furthermore, valves with different functions can use the same valve chamber size, such as check valves, cone valves, flow control valves, throttle valves, two-position solenoid valves, etc. If valves of the same size but different functions cannot use different valve bodies, the manufacturing cost of the valve block will inevitably increase, and the advantages of cartridge valves will disappear.
ATOS cartridge valves are widely used in fluid control applications, including solenoid directional valves, check valves, relief valves, pressure reducing valves, flow control valves, and sequence valves. This versatility extends to fluid dynamics circuit design and mechanical practicality, fully demonstrating the importance of cartridge valves to system designers and users. Due to the versatility of their assembly process, the universality of their orifice sizes, and their interchangeability, cartridge valves allow for complete design configurations, making them widely used in various hydraulic machinery.
ATOS Cartridge Valves
Cartridge valves are widely used in various engineering machinery, material handling machinery, and agricultural machinery. Their application is expanding in often-overlooked industrial sectors. Especially in situations where weight and space constraints render traditional industrial hydraulic valves ineffective, cartridge valves prove invaluable. In certain applications, cartridge valves are the choice for improving productivity and competitiveness.
The functions of new cartridge valves are constantly being developed. These new developments will ensure sustainable production benefits in the future. Past experience has shown that a lack of imagination is a limitation to achieving immediate production benefits using cartridge valves.

When x is connected to the oil inlet, the valve is closed.
A valve that changes the oil flow method of the port is called a pilot valve.
Applications of Cartridge Valves
A three-way valve consists of two directional valve assemblies connected in parallel, forming one pressure port, one working port, and one return port. The number of operating states of a three-way cartridge valve depends on the number of operating positions of the pilot directional valve.
A four-way valve consists of two three-way valves connected in parallel.
The pilot valve can be a three-position four-way directional valve (see animation).
The pilot valve can also be two two-position four-way directional valves or four two-position three-way directional valves (see animation).
The number of operating states of a four-way cartridge valve depends on the number of operating positions of the pilot directional valve.
