A Rexroth throttle valve is a valve that controls fluid flow by changing the throttling cross-section or throttling length. A throttle valve and a check valve connected in parallel can be combined to form a check throttle valve. Throttling valves and check throttle valves are simple flow control valves. In a fixed displacement pump hydraulic system, a throttle valve and a relief valve can be used together to form three types of throttling speed control systems: inlet throttling speed control system, return throttling speed control system, and bypass throttling speed control system. Throttling valves do not have flow negative feedback function and cannot compensate for speed instability caused by load changes. They are generally only used in applications where load changes are small or speed stability requirements are not high.

Rexroth Throttling Valve Product Features
1. Simple construction, easy to manufacture and maintain, low cost.
2. Low adjustment accuracy, cannot be used for regulation.
3. Sealing surface is easily eroded, cannot be used for cutting off the medium.
4. Poor sealing performance.
REXROTH Throttling Valve Installation and Maintenance
The following points should be noted when installing and maintaining a REXROTH throttle valve:
This valve requires frequent operation, therefore it should be installed in a location that is easy and convenient to operate.
During installation, ensure that the direction of the medium is consistent with the direction of the arrow marked on the valve body.
I. The sources of deposits on the throttle valve body are complex, but can be summarized as follows:
1. Mechanical impurities in the oil, or precipitated substances such as gum, asphalt, and carbon residue due to oxidation, accumulate at the throttle gap.
2. Due to oil aging or compression, charged polarized molecules are generated. Since there is a potential difference on the metal surface of the throttle gap, the polarized molecules are adsorbed onto the gap surface, forming a strong boundary adsorption layer. The thickness of the adsorption layer is generally 5-8 micrometers, thus affecting the size of the throttle gap. When the accumulated and adsorbed substances grow to a certain thickness, they will be washed away by the liquid flow, and then re-adhere to the valve port. This cycle repeats, creating flow pulsations.
3. When the valve port pressure difference is large, the high temperature at the valve port increases the degree of liquid compression, and the metal surface is more susceptible to friction, creating a potential difference. Therefore, large pressure differences can easily lead to blockage.
4. PCV exhaust gas source: The combustible mixture in the combustion chamber enters the crankcase through the piston gap and mixes with engine oil vapor to form a gas mixture. To avoid diluting and contaminating the engine oil, the gas mixture is drawn into the intake manifold by the PCV system to participate in secondary combustion. This exhaust gas, upon entering the intake manifold, condenses due to the lower temperature, forming a liquid phase. The "unstable components" within it oxidize and condense at high temperatures, forming oil deposits on the throttle valve surface.
5. Lubricating oil deeply embedded in the turbocharger compressor: Turbocharged engines generally employ an exhaust gas-driven method, utilizing the high-pressure exhaust gas generated in the exhaust manifold to drive the turbine, which in turn drives the compressor blades in the intake manifold via a coaxial connection, creating pressurized airflow in the intake manifold. However, under long-term and harsh operating conditions, coaxial bearings are prone to lubricant penetration and evaporation. Combined with the significantly increased charging efficiency, this further exacerbates the formation of heavy oil contaminants, intensifying the adhesion of deposits on the throttle valve body.
6. Fuel vapor from the carbon canister: Among the fuel vapor adsorbed by the engine carbon canister, cyclopentadiene is the most likely component to form throttle valve deposits. Under sustained high temperatures, it can oxidize and condense to form a gel-like sludge.
II. Throttle Valve Maintenance and Cleaning
When the throttle valve (i.e., butterfly valve) is obstructed by deposits, the throttle opening value becomes disordered. The engine cannot stably and accurately control its opening. An excessively low opening value causes starting difficulties, unstable idling, or abnormal stalling. During engine acceleration and deceleration, the throttle valve's inability to respond promptly can lead to delayed acceleration or sudden acceleration.
Related Measures
The German REXROTH throttle valve is a valve that controls fluid flow by changing the throttle cross-section or throttle length. Connecting a throttle valve and a check valve in parallel creates a one-way throttle valve. Throttling valves and one-way throttle valves are simple flow control valves. In fixed-displacement pump hydraulic systems, throttle valves and relief valves work together to form three types of throttling speed control systems: inlet throttling speed control system, return throttling speed control system, and bypass throttling speed control system. Throttling valves lack flow negative feedback and cannot compensate for speed instability caused by load changes. They are generally only used in applications with small load changes or where speed stability requirements are not high.
