METRIX pressure transmitters mainly consist of three parts: a pressure sensing element (also called a pressure sensor), a measuring circuit, and process connectors. It converts the physical pressure parameters of gases, liquids, etc., sensed by the pressure sensing element into standard electrical signals (such as 4~20mA DC), which are then supplied to secondary instruments such as indicators, alarms, recorders, and controllers for measurement, indication, and process regulation.

Function of METRIX Pressure Transmitters

METRIX pressure transmitters transmit pressure signals to electronic equipment, which then displays the pressure on a computer.

The basic principle of the METRIX pressure transmitter is as follows:

It converts the mechanical signal of water pressure into an electronic signal of current (4-20mA).

Pressure and voltage or current have a linear relationship, generally a direct proportional relationship.

Therefore, the voltage or current output by the transmitter increases with increasing pressure.

This leads to a relationship between pressure and voltage or current.

The two pressures of the measured medium in the METRIX pressure transmitter are introduced into high and low pressure chambers. The low pressure chamber uses atmospheric pressure or vacuum, acting on the diaphragms on both sides of the δ element (i.e., the sensitive element). The pressure is transmitted to both sides of the measuring diaphragm through the Figueres insulating sheet and the filling fluid within the element. The pressure transmitter consists of a capacitor formed by the measuring diaphragm and electrodes on the insulating sheets on both sides. When the pressures on both sides are inconsistent, the measuring diaphragm is displaced. The amount of displacement is proportional to the pressure difference, resulting in unequal capacitances on both sides. Through oscillation and demodulation, this is converted into a signal proportional to the pressure.

METRIX pressure transmitters from the USA are among the most commonly used sensors in industrial practice. They are widely used in various industrial automation environments, including water conservancy and hydropower, railway transportation, intelligent buildings, production automation, aerospace, military, petrochemicals, oil wells, power, shipbuilding, machine tools, pipelines, and many other industries. Below is a brief introduction to the principles and applications of some commonly used pressure transmitters. Pressure transmitters are used to measure the level, density, and pressure of liquids, gases, or vapors, and then convert the pressure signal into a 4-20mA DC signal output.

METRIX pressure transmitters from the USA mainly include capacitive pressure transmitters, diffused silicon pressure transmitters, ceramic pressure transmitters, and strain gauge pressure transmitters. Pressure transmitters can be categorized into three types based on their pressure measurement range: general pressure transmitters (0.001MPa~35MPa), differential pressure transmitters (0~1.5kPa), and negative pressure transmitters.

The main function of the American METRIX pressure transmitter is to transmit pressure signals to electronic equipment, which then displays the pressure on a computer. Its principle is roughly as follows: it converts the mechanical signal of water pressure into an electronic signal such as current (4-20mA). Pressure and voltage or current have a linear relationship, generally a direct proportional relationship. Therefore, the voltage or current output by the transmitter increases with increasing pressure, thus deriving a relationship between pressure and voltage or current. The measured medium in the pressure transmitter is supplied with two pressures: a high-pressure chamber and a low-pressure chamber. The low-pressure chamber uses atmospheric pressure or a vacuum, acting on the diaphragms on both sides of the δ element (i.e., the sensitive element). The pressure is transmitted to both sides of the measuring diaphragm through the insulating plates and the filling fluid within the element.

The American METRIX pressure transmitter consists of a measuring diaphragm and electrodes on both sides of the insulating plates, each forming a capacitor. When the pressures on both sides are inconsistent, the measuring diaphragm shifts, and the amount of displacement is proportional to the pressure difference. Therefore, the capacitances on both sides become unequal. This is addressed through oscillation and demodulation.
