The HYDAC pressure switch is a simple pressure control device. When the measured pressure reaches the rated value, the pressure switch can issue an alarm or control signal. The working principle of the pressure switch is: when the measured pressure exceeds the rated value, the free end of the elastic element is displaced, directly or after comparison, pushing the switching element, changing the on/off state of the switching element, thus achieving the purpose of controlling the measured pressure.

HYDAC Pressure Switch Main Features

HYDAC pressure switches are mainly classified into normally open and normally closed types. The main features are:

1. Utilizing British standard pipe thread quick couplings or copper pipe welded installation structure, installation is flexible and convenient, requiring no special installation fixation.

2. Plug-in or wire connection methods are available for user selection.

3. Sealed stainless steel sensor ensures safety and reliability.

4. Can be manufactured according to any pressure value selected by the user within the pressure range.

A pressure switch is a device combined with an electrical switch. When a preset fluid pressure is reached, the switch contacts activate. It is mainly used in power plants, petrochemical plants, metallurgical industries, and other industrial equipment to output alarm or control signals. It plays an important role in the industrial field, preventing damage to important equipment in production processes and avoiding major production accidents.

2. Main Sensing Elements of Pressure Switches

2.1 Bellows

Features: Better durability and vibration resistance than Bourdon tubes; wide adjustable range of contact differential; main materials include stainless steel and phosphor bronze; relatively high price; but smaller measurable pressure range, maximum 40MPa (CB33).

2.2 Diaphragm

HYDAC Pressure Switch Operation Method

1. Method for Setting Control Pressure

(1) Briefly press the (ON/OFF) run button to turn off the run indicator light; the pressure control system will then shut down. (2) Setting the Upper/Lower Limit

Press the SET button once to enter the lower limit setting state (the corresponding lower limit indicator light will illuminate). Set the value using (▲) and (▼). After setting the lower limit, press the SET button again to enter the upper limit setting state, using the same method.

(3) After setting, press the SET button to automatically save the set value to the computer chip (if no button operation is performed within 5 seconds after parameter modification, the current parameter setting will be automatically saved).

(4) Press the (ON/OFF) run button again (the corresponding run indicator light will illuminate), and the motor will start working.

2. Unit Switching Method: Press the (ON/OFF) run button briefly to turn off the run indicator light. Press the increase button (▲) briefly to switch the unit between MPa, Kg/cm, and PSI. Turn on the run indicator light after setting.

3. Zero Point Reset Function: Press the (ON/OFF) run button briefly to turn off the run indicator light. Press and hold the decrease button (▼) for 5 seconds to reset the current pressure value to zero and correct the zero point error. Turn on the run indicator light after setting. (Pressure must not be applied to the pressure switch when using this function.)

1. Rated Pressure Range

The rated pressure range is the pressure range that meets the standard specifications. In other words, it's the pressure range between the maximum pressure and the specified operating pressure that the sensor outputs within the specified operating characteristics. In practical applications, the pressure measured by the sensor falls within this range. Currently, the highest measurement pressure of these sensors can reach 300 MPa or higher.

2. Maximum Pressure Range

The maximum pressure range refers to the maximum pressure the sensor can withstand for an extended period without altering its output characteristics. Especially for semiconductor pressure sensors, the rated pressure range is typically significantly reduced to improve linearity and temperature characteristics. Therefore, continuous use above the rated pressure will not cause damage. Generally, the maximum pressure is 2-3 times the highest rated pressure.

3. Damage Pressure

Damage pressure refers to the maximum pressure that can be machined onto the sensor without damaging the sensor element or housing.

4. Linearity

Linearity refers to the maximum deviation from the linear relationship between the sensor output and the pressure within the operating pressure range.

5. Pressure Hysteresis

This is the difference in sensor output as the sensor approaches a certain pressure from the minimum and maximum operating pressures at room temperature and within the operating pressure range.

6. Temperature Range

The temperature range of a pressure sensor is divided into the compensated temperature range and the operating temperature range. The compensated temperature range is the temperature range within which accuracy falls within the rated range after temperature compensation is applied. The operating temperature range is the temperature range within which the pressure sensor ensures normal operation.
