CAMOZZI cylinders are pressure-bearing components within the cylinder system. To prevent air leakage between the left and right chambers of the piston, piston seals are installed. Wear rings on the piston improve the cylinder's guiding properties, reduce piston seal wear, and decrease frictional resistance. Wear rings are commonly made of materials such as polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, and fabric-reinforced synthetic resin. The piston width is determined by the seal size and the necessary sliding portion length. A sliding portion that is too short can easily lead to premature wear and jamming. Pistons are commonly made of aluminum alloy and cast iron; pistons for small cylinders are sometimes made of brass.

CAMOZZI Cylinders
are cast. After leaving the factory, cylinders undergo aging treatment to eliminate the internal stress generated during the casting process. If the aging time is short, the finished cylinder will deform during subsequent operation.
CAMOZZI Cylinders
are subjected to complex forces during operation. Besides static loads such as the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the cylinder and the weight of the components inside, they also bear the reaction force of steam flowing out of the stationary vanes on the stationary parts, as well as the forces exerted on the cylinder by various connecting pipes under hot and cold conditions. Under the interaction of these forces, the cylinder is prone to plastic deformation, causing leakage.
The rapid increase or decrease of load in CAMOZZI cylinders, especially during rapid starts, stops, and changes in operating conditions, can cause significant temperature fluctuations. Incorrect cylinder warm-up methods and premature removal of insulation during shutdown maintenance can also lead to substantial thermal stress and deformation in the cylinder and flanges.
Stress generated during machining or after welding repairs, without subsequent tempering to eliminate it, results in significant residual stress in the cylinder, causing deformation during operation.
During installation or maintenance, improper maintenance processes and techniques can lead to unsuitable expansion clearances in the inner cylinder, cylinder diaphragms, diaphragm sleeves, and steam seal sleeves, or inappropriate expansion clearances in the lug pressure plates. This generates enormous expansion forces after operation, causing cylinder deformation.
Poor quality, excessive impurities, or incorrect type of cylinder sealant can also cause problems. Hard impurities in the sealant can prevent a tight seal.
Failure to properly seal the cylinder can also contribute to deformation. CAMOZZI Cylinders
Insufficient bolt tightening or substandard bolt material. The tightness of the cylinder mating surface depends primarily on the bolt tightening force. Thermal stress and high temperatures generated during unit start-up, shutdown, or load adjustments can cause bolt stress relaxation. If the stress is insufficient, the bolt preload will gradually decrease. If the cylinder bolts are of poor quality, they will elongate under thermal stress and cylinder expansion forces during prolonged operation, resulting in plastic deformation or fracture, leading to insufficient tightening and cylinder leakage.
CAMOZZI Cylinders
Incorrect bolt tightening sequence. Generally, cylinder bolts are tightened simultaneously from the center outwards, starting from the point of maximum sag or deformation. This shifts the gap from the point of greatest deformation towards the free ends of the cylinder, gradually eliminating the gap. If tightened from the sides towards the center, the gap concentrates in the middle, forming an arc-shaped gap at the cylinder mating surface, causing steam leakage.
CAMOZZI Cylinder Series Introduction
The 16, 24, and 25 series miniature cylinders feature mechanically rolled end caps on the cylinder barrel and end caps. The pistons of the 24 and 25 series cylinders are equipped with permanent magnets, allowing operation with magnetic switches. (Example: 24N2A16A100)
The 27 series double-acting magnetically driven cylinders are non-pull-rod type, with mechanically rolled end caps on the cylinder barrel and end caps. (Example: 27M2A20A0050)
The 31 series cylinders are compact magnetically driven cylinders with aluminum cylinder barrels. (Example: 31M2A032A050)
The 40 series cylinders are double-acting magnetically driven cylinders. The 32~125mm sizes are discontinued. The upgraded 60 series is an alternative. (Example: 40M2L160A0200)
The 45 series guide devices, when used with corresponding cylinders, can prevent the rotation of the cylinder piston rod. (Example: 45NUT050A0100)
The 60 series cylinders are upgraded replacements for the 40 series cylinders. These cylinders have a permanent magnet mounted on the piston, and the piston's position signal can be obtained via a magnetic proximity switch mounted on the cylinder. (Example: 60M2L050A0200)
The 61 series cylinders are upgraded replacements for the 41 series cylinders. The cylinder rod is not exposed. (Example: 61M2P050A0200)
The 90 series stainless steel cylinders are suitable for harsh environmental conditions. (Example: 90M2A050A0200)
The 92 series stainless steel cylinders are suitable for environments requiring strict cleaning and other harsh conditions for hygiene reasons. (Example: 92M2A050A0200)
The 94 and 95 series stainless steel miniature cylinders are non-rod type. Suitable for use in harsh environments. (Example: 94N2A16A100)
The QCTF and QCBF series double-guide rod cylinder slides are single-cylinder pneumatic slides with double guide devices. (Example: QCTF2A020A050)
The QP and QPR series cylinders are short-stroke cylinders (thin cylinders). (Example: QP2A050A050)
