Aventics offers solutions for your needs with three new mini cylindrical cylinders, the CSL-RD, in three different sizes. The standard new mini cylindrical cylinder CSL-RD conforms to ISO 6432 standards and can be applied to existing equipment without any additional modifications. The compact version features a 37% shorter base, making it more suitable for tight installation spaces. Or, for hygiene reasons, you may wish to remove the threads from the base – this model...

AVENTICS[1] Group is a global group company that provides pneumatic components and automation systems. It is also a professional supplier of transmission and control solutions for the marine industry, oilfield equipment, and commercial vehicles. Formerly the pneumatic business unit of Bosch Rexroth, it now operates independently globally.

Pneumatic actuators are pneumatic components that convert the pressure energy of compressed gas into mechanical energy in pneumatic transmission. Cylinders come in two types: those that perform reciprocating linear motion and those that perform reciprocating oscillating motion (see figure). Cylinders performing reciprocating linear motion can be further divided into four types: single-acting cylinders, double-acting cylinders, diaphragm cylinders, and impact cylinders.

The external structure of a throttle valve is no different from that of a stop valve; the only difference is the shape of their opening and closing components. The opening and closing components of throttle valves are mostly conical streamlined shapes, which change the cross-sectional area of the passage to regulate flow and pressure. Throttling valves are used to reduce the pressure of the medium when the pressure drop is extremely large.

AVENTICS pneumatic components, AVENTICS cylinders

The medium flows at a high velocity between the throttle valve disc and the valve seat, causing rapid damage to the surfaces of these parts—a phenomenon known as cavitation. To minimize the effects of cavitation, the valve disc is made of cavitation-resistant material (alloy steel) and formed into a streamlined cone with a tip angle of 140–180 degrees. This also allows for a larger opening height of the valve disc. Throttling in small gaps is generally not recommended. Throttling valves can be classified into two types according to their channel type: straight-through and angle type; and into three types according to the shape of their opening and closing elements: needle type, groove type, and window type. The following points should be noted regarding the installation and maintenance of throttle valves:

This valve requires frequent operation, therefore it should be installed in a location that is easy to operate.

During installation, ensure that the direction of the medium is consistent with the direction of the arrow marked on the valve body.

Since the flow rate of a throttle valve depends not only on the size of the throttle orifice area but also on the pressure difference before and after the orifice, and the valve has low rigidity, it is only suitable for applications where the load change of the actuator is small and the speed stability requirement is not high.

For throttling speed control systems where the load change of the actuator is large and the speed stability requirement is high, pressure compensation must be performed on the throttle valve to maintain the throttle position.

A swing cylinder is a pneumatic actuator that uses compressed air to drive the output shaft to reciprocate within a certain angle range. It is used for opening and closing valves and for robot arm movements, etc. The swing cylinder's swing angle, swing starting point, switching type, number of switches, and selection options are as follows.

Compact cylinders generally refer to cylinders with simplified structures and reduced sizes.

Reason

AVENTICS Cylinder

Internal and external leaks in cylinders are generally caused by misaligned piston rod installation, insufficient lubrication, worn or damaged seals and sealing rings, impurities in the cylinder, and scratches on the piston rod. Therefore, when internal or external leaks occur in the cylinder, the piston rod center should be readjusted to ensure coaxiality between the piston rod and cylinder; the oil mist lubricator should be checked regularly to ensure proper lubrication of the actuator; worn or damaged seals and sealing rings should be replaced promptly; impurities in the cylinder should be removed immediately; and scratches on the piston rod should be addressed by replacing it.

Insufficient output force and unstable operation in AVENTICS cylinders are generally caused by piston or piston rod jamming, poor lubrication, insufficient air supply, or condensate and impurities in the cylinder. To address these issues, the piston rod center should be adjusted; the oil mist lubricator should be checked for reliability; and the air supply line should be checked for blockages. Condensate and impurities in the cylinder should be removed promptly. Poor cushioning in AVENTICS cylinders is generally caused by worn cushioning seals or damaged adjusting screws. In this case, the seals and adjusting screws should be replaced.

Damage to the piston rod and cylinder head of AVENTICS cylinders is generally caused by eccentric piston rod installation or a malfunctioning cushioning mechanism. In this case, the center position of the piston rod should be adjusted; the cushioning seals or adjusting screws should be replaced.

When there is large-area steam leakage at the mating surfaces of AVENTICS cylinders, with a gap of approximately 0.50mm, a coating process can be used to reduce the amount of scraping work. Using the cylinder as the anode and the coating tool as the cathode, an electrolytic solution is repeatedly applied to the cylinder mating surfaces. The coating thickness depends on the size of the gap between the cylinder mating surfaces, and the type of coating depends on the cylinder material and the scraping process. Spraying involves heating metal powder to a molten or plastic state using a specialized high-temperature flame torch and then spraying it onto the treated cylinder surface to form a coating with the desired properties. Its advantages include simple equipment, convenient operation, and a strong coating. After spraying, the cylinder temperature only reaches 70℃-80℃, preventing cylinder deformation. Furthermore, it provides a heat-resistant, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant coating. It is important to note that the cylinder surface must be sanded, degreased, and roughened before coating and spraying. After coating and spraying, the coating must be scraped to ensure a tight bond.
