Advantages and Disadvantages of ATOS Hydraulic Cylinders:
1. Since pneumatic systems generally operate at pressures within the range of 0.2-1.0 MPa, pneumatic cylinders cannot be used as high-power power components. Hydraulic cylinders, however, can be used as higher-power components, or hydraulic cylinder systems can be employed.
2. Air is an inexhaustible medium, with no cost or supply difficulties. Used air can be directly discharged into the atmosphere, making disposal convenient and preventing contamination of the hydraulic oil.
3. Air has low viscosity, resulting in less resistance than hydraulic oil. 4. However, because the compressibility of air is much greater than that of hydraulic oil, its operational smoothness and responsiveness are significantly inferior.
ATOS Cylinder Machining: As a key component of hydraulic cylinders, mining single-pillar supports, hydraulic supports, and gun barrels, the quality of the cylinder's machining directly affects the lifespan and reliability of the entire product. Cylinder machining requires high precision; its inner surface roughness must be Ra 0.4–0.8µm, with strict requirements for coaxiality and wear resistance. A fundamental characteristic of cylinders is deep-hole machining, which has always been a challenge for machining personnel. Roller burnishing, by leaving residual compressive stress on the surface layer, helps to close micro-cracks and hinders the propagation of erosion. This improves surface corrosion resistance and delays the initiation or propagation of fatigue cracks, thus increasing the cylinder's fatigue strength. Through roller burnishing, a work-hardened layer is formed on the burnished surface, reducing the elastic and plastic deformation of the grinding pair contact surface, thereby improving the wear resistance of the cylinder's inner wall and preventing burns caused by grinding. The reduced surface roughness after roller burnishing improves the fit.
