ROS Double Valve: The ROSS double valve for punch presses is a safety component specifically designed to ensure the safe operation of pneumatically controlled machinery. It conforms to the safety regulations for valves used in mechanical presses employing pneumatic clutches and brakes in the OSHA standard.

ROS Double Valve Introduction: The ROSS double valve contains two sliding main valve cores within its main valve body, each controlled by a separate solenoid pilot valve. Both main valve cores share a common inlet, outlet, and exhaust port. When both solenoid pilot valves are simultaneously energized, the two main valve cores within the main valve body switch directions simultaneously. That is, under normal operating conditions, the double valve functions equivalent to a two-position three-way valve.

When one of the two main valve cores fails to open or close properly, the design of the tandem valve ensures that the outlet pressure drops sharply to below 2% of the inlet pressure, preventing the actuator controlled by the tandem valve from operating and thus protecting the operator. This is a fundamental safety feature of ROSS's tandem valve design. The probability of both main valve cores failing simultaneously in a single circulation system is extremely low; therefore, the dual-core structure of the tandem valve provides ample safety for the operator.

ROS Tandem Valve Introduction Note: In mechanical presses or other hazardous machinery using pneumatic clutches and brakes, tandem valves with built-in or external monitoring systems should be used. This prevents the valve itself and the actuators it controls from continuing to operate and injuring the operator in the event of a valve failure. Of course, the tandem valve is only one part of the stamping machinery control system; to ensure operator safety, all other components in the control system should be designed with safety in mind.
