REXROTH Solenoid Valves: This series of REXROTH solenoid valves consists of a pilot valve and a main valve core connected to form a channel combination. The normally closed type is closed when not energized. When the coil is energized, the generated magnetic force causes the moving and stationary iron cores to attract each other, opening the pilot valve port and allowing the medium to flow to the outlet. At this time, the pressure in the upper chamber of the main valve core decreases, falling below the pressure on the inlet side, creating a pressure difference that overcomes the spring resistance and causes it to move upward, thus opening the main valve port and allowing the medium to flow. When the coil is de-energized, the magnetic force disappears, and the moving iron core resets under the spring force, closing the pilot port. At this time, the medium flows in through the balance hole, increasing the pressure in the upper chamber of the main valve core, and moving downward under the spring force, closing the main valve port. The normally open type operates on the opposite principle. Examples include: SLA, DF (φ15 and above), ZCZ, etc.

REXROTH Solenoid Valves: Available in normally closed and normally open types. Normally closed type: When de-energized, it is in the closed state. When the coil is energized, electromagnetic force is generated, causing the moving iron core to overcome the spring force and attract with the stationary iron core, directly opening the valve and allowing the medium to flow. When the coil is de-energized, the electromagnetic force disappears, and the moving iron core returns to its original position under the action of the spring force, directly closing the valve port and preventing the medium from flowing. It has a simple structure, reliable operation, and works normally under zero pressure difference and micro-vacuum. Normally open type: The opposite is true. For example, REXROTH solenoid valves with a flow diameter smaller than φ6.

REXROTH solenoid valve: This valve uses a primary opening and secondary opening mechanism integrated into one unit. The main valve and pilot valve open the main valve port directly through electromagnetic force and pressure difference in stages. When the coil is energized, electromagnetic force is generated, causing the moving iron core and stationary iron core to attract. The pilot valve port opens and is located on the main valve port, with the moving iron core connected to the main valve core. At this time, the pressure in the upper chamber of the main valve is relieved through the pilot valve port. Under the combined action of pressure difference and electromagnetic force, the main valve core moves upward, opening the main valve and allowing the medium to flow. When the coil is de-energized, the electromagnetic force disappears. At this time, the moving iron core closes the pilot valve orifice under its own weight and spring force. The medium then enters the upper chamber of the main valve core through the balance orifice, increasing the pressure in the upper chamber. Under the action of spring reset and pressure, the main valve closes, and the medium flow is interrupted. The structure is reasonable, the operation is reliable, and it works reliably even at zero differential pressure. Examples include: ZQDF, ZS, and 2W.

1. Media characteristics

1.1 Different types of solenoid valves should be selected for gas, liquid, or mixed states. For example, ZQDF is for air, ZQDF-Y for liquid, and ZQDF-2 (or -3) for steam. Otherwise, malfunctions may occur. The ZDF series multi-functional solenoid valves can be used for both gas and liquid. It is best to specify the media state when ordering so that the user does not need to adjust it during installation.

1.2 Different specifications of products require different medium temperatures; otherwise, the coil will burn out, the seals will age, and the lifespan will be severely affected.

1.3 Medium viscosity is usually below 50 cSt. If it exceeds this value, for diameters greater than 15mm, ZDF series multi-functional solenoid valves should be ordered as special orders. For diameters less than 15mm, order high-viscosity solenoid valves.

1.4 When the medium cleanliness is not high, a backwash filter valve should be installed before the solenoid valve. For low pressure, a direct-acting diaphragm solenoid valve, such as CD-P, can be selected.

1.5 If the medium is directional and backflow is not allowed, ZDF-N and ZQDF-N valves are used. However, if bidirectional flow is required, please specify the requirements.

1.6 The medium temperature should be selected within the allowable range of the solenoid valve.

2. Piping Parameters

2.1 Select the valve port and model according to the medium flow direction requirements and pipeline connection method. For example, for switching from one pipeline to two pipelines, select CA5 and Z3F for small diameters, and ZDF-Z1/2 for medium or large diameters. For example, if controlling the confluence of two pipes, please select ZDF-Z2/1, etc.

2.2 Select the nominal diameter based on the flow rate and the valve's Kv value; alternatively, you can select the same diameter as the pipe's inner diameter. Please note that some manufacturers do not specify the Kv value, and often the valve orifice size is smaller than the interface pipe diameter. Do not prioritize lower prices and risk making mistakes.
