Rexroth servo valves are widely used in electro-hydraulic position, velocity, acceleration, and force servo systems, as well as servo vibration generators. They feature small size, compact structure, high power amplification, high control precision, good linearity, small dead zone, high sensitivity, good dynamic performance, and fast response. This servo valve is a two-stage valve. The first stage is a nozzle-baffle type, with its outlet pressure controlled by a control signal. The second stage is a spool valve type, actuating the pressure from the control stage to the brake cylinder. When no signal is applied, the pressure of the outlet oil from the pressure nozzle causes the servo valve baffle to rest against the return oil nozzle.

Rexroth servo valves primarily refer to electro-hydraulic servo valves. After receiving an electrical analog signal, they output modulated flow and pressure. They are both electro-hydraulic conversion elements and power amplification elements, converting weak electrical input signals into high-power hydraulic energy (flow and pressure) output. In electro-hydraulic servo systems, they connect the electrical and hydraulic components, realizing the conversion of electro-hydraulic signals and hydraulic amplification. The electro-hydraulic servo valve is the core of the electro-hydraulic servo system control.
Rexroth servo valves are actuators in servo systems that convert electrical signal input into high-power pressure or flow/pressure signal output. They are electro-hydraulic conversion and power amplification elements. Servo valves are highly sensitive and fast, capable of converting very small electrical signals (e.g., 10 mA) into large hydraulic power (e.g., tens of horsepower or more), and can drive various types of loads. In the past, hydraulic amplification devices such as nozzle-baffle valves, jet pipes, or spool valve servo motors were also included in the category of servo valves. Since the 1970s, the term "servo valve" generally refers only to electro-hydraulic servo valves.
Rexroth servo valves are two-stage valves. The first stage is a nozzle-baffle type, where the outlet pressure is controlled by a control signal. The second stage is a spool valve type, actuating the pressure from the control stage to the brake cylinder. When there is no signal, the pressure of the pressure nozzle outlet causes the servo valve baffle to rest against the return nozzle. At this time, the oil pressure at the pressure port acts on the spool valve, directly connecting the brake port and the metering port. The brake port pressure is equal to the metering oil pressure controlled by the pilot. When the wheel angular velocity detects a deviation between the taxiing speed and the reference taxiing speed, the torque motor receives the deviation signal. The torque motor then drives the baffle to deflect towards the pressure nozzle, causing the oil pressure acting on the upper end of the valve spool to decrease. Under the action of the oil pressure at the lower end of the valve spool, the valve spool moves upward, closing the metering pressure port. This results in a decrease in the control port pressure. When the control port pressure drops to a certain value, the corresponding braking pressure is applied.
