Compared to other brands of servo valves, MOOG servo valves offer the following advantages: energy saving, zero pollution, strong environmental adaptability, low operating noise, durability requiring minimal maintenance, and suitability for industries with high energy, performance, and environmental requirements.
MOOG Servo Valve Working Principle
The MOOG servo valve consists of a permanent magnet torque motor, nozzle, baffle, valve core, valve sleeve, and control chamber. When current is applied to the input coil of the servo valve, the baffle moves to the right, strengthening the throttling effect of the right nozzle, reducing the flow rate, and increasing the back pressure on the right side; simultaneously, it reduces the throttling effect of the left nozzle, increasing the flow rate, and decreasing the back pressure on the left side. The forces at both ends of the valve core become unbalanced, causing the valve core to move to the left. High-pressure oil flows from S to C2, delivering it to the load. Load return oil flows through C1 and the return port, entering the oil tank. The displacement of the valve core is proportional to the input current of the torque motor. The hydraulic pressure acting on the valve core is balanced by the spring force; therefore, in equilibrium, the differential current of the torque motor is proportional to the displacement of the valve core. If the input current is reversed, the flow rate is also reversed. The table shows the classification of servo valves.

moog Servo Valve
In 1988, Robert T. Brady, president of MOOG's aircraft division, was appointed CEO. Sales reached $282 million in 1989. The company established operations in India in the mid-1990s. Our major acquisition was the purchase of Allied Signal's aircraft business in Torrance, California. By the end of 1999, company revenue exceeded $630 million.
In 2001, MOOG received a $50 million contract for the refurbishment of the Space Shuttle, and the company transferred from the American Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange. We are the designer and supplier of the flight control system for Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter jet and a major supplier of flight control components for Boeing's 787 "Dreamliner" program.
In 2004, the company's revenue surpassed $900 million, and it completed another large-scale acquisition, acquiring Litton Poly-Scientific and renaming it MOOG Components Group. The company's annual sales exceeded $1 billion.

MOOG Founder: Bill Moog
Innovation extends far beyond product design. From the beginning, we firmly believed that the workplace should be a special place. We believed that people are more creative, focused, and productive in a work environment where they are trusted, respected, and rewarded. This philosophy later became known as the "Moog Philosophy." This principle still guides our company today. "In an atmosphere of mutual trust and confidence, work becomes a more rewarding and fulfilling experience for everyone."
Moog's main industry markets in China include plastics machinery manufacturing, power generation, heavy industry, aerospace, and automotive testing. Moog China is our center in Asia for the research and development of automotive testing solutions and the manufacturing of electromechanical pitch control systems.
Moog servo valves are primarily used as actuators in electro-hydraulic servo systems (see Hydraulic Servo Systems). In servo systems, hydraulic actuators, compared to electric and pneumatic actuators, offer advantages such as faster response, higher power output per unit weight, smoother transmission, and stronger anti-interference capabilities. Conversely, electrical components are often used for signal transmission and characteristic correction in servo systems. Therefore, modern high-performance servo systems also employ electro-hydraulic methods, and servo valves are essential components of such systems.
Moog servo valves mainly refer to electro-hydraulic servo valves, which, upon receiving an electrical analog signal, output modulated flow and pressure. They act as both electro-hydraulic conversion elements and power amplification elements, converting low-power, weak electrical input signals into high-power hydraulic energy (flow and pressure) output.
The company mainly deals with European and American brands and can source brands from any European country. For example, our key German brands include: BURKERT, DEMAG, HAWE, REXROTH, HYDAC, PILZ relays, FESTO, IFM sensors, E+H, HEIDENHAIN, P+F sensors, SICK, TURCK, and HIRSCHMANN industrial switches.
