The German HAWE balancing valve is a special type of valve. The valve itself is not special; the difference lies in its function and application. In certain industries, due to significant pressure or flow differences between different parts of a pipeline or container, valves are installed between the corresponding pipelines or containers to reduce or balance these differences. This is done to regulate the relative pressure balance on both sides, or to achieve flow balance through flow diversion. These valves are called balancing valves.
The German HAWE balancing valve performs dynamic and static balancing regulation under hydraulic conditions. Balancing valves can be divided into three types: static balancing valves, dynamic balancing valves, and differential pressure independent balancing valves. Static balancing valves, also known as balancing valves, manual balancing valves, digitally locked balancing valves, and two-position regulating valves, regulate flow by changing the gap (opening) between the valve core and seat, adjusting the valve's Kv (valve flow capacity), and thus altering the flow resistance. They act on the system's resistance, eliminating resistance imbalances and allowing new water volume to be distributed proportionally according to design calculations, with each branch increasing or decreasing proportionally. Static balancing valves can be used in main pipes, risers, horizontal branches, and terminal pipes, achieving the same effect as parallel flow control pipes.
The main principle of the German HAWE balancing valve:
The German HAWE balancing valve is a regulating valve with a special digital locking function. It adopts a direct-flow valve body structure, providing better equal percentage flow characteristics. It can rationally distribute flow and effectively solve the problem of uneven room temperature in heating (air conditioning) systems. Simultaneously, it can accurately regulate pressure drop and flow rate to improve the liquid flow state in the pipe network system, achieving pipe network liquid balance and energy conservation. The valve is equipped with an opening degree indicator, an opening degree locking device, and a pressure measuring valve for flow measurement. By installing appropriate balancing valves on each branch and at the user inlet, and performing a one-time adjustment and locking using a dedicated intelligent instrument, the total water volume of the system can be controlled within a reasonable range, thus overcoming the unreasonable phenomenon of "large flow rate, small temperature difference." The balancing valve can be installed on either the supply or return pipe, but is generally installed on the return pipe, especially for high-temperature loops, where it is more convenient for adjustment. Supply (return) pipes with balancing valves installed do not require additional shut-off valves. Installing balancing valves in the piping system and adjusting them changes the ratio of the system's characteristic resistance coefficients to match design requirements. After successful system commissioning, there is no static hydraulic imbalance. When a successfully commissioned system is operating under partial load, the flow rate in each branch pipe regulated by the balancing valve will automatically decrease proportionally when the total flow rate decreases, but the set flow ratio of each branch pipe remains unchanged.

HAWE LHK, LHDV and LHT balance valves
It maintains the return oil lock at its set pressure. Only when the hydraulic pump inputs to the inlet side, such as into the cylinder, and generates sufficient pressure on the return side, can the set pressure of the balance valve be overcome.
The LHK type balance valve is suitable for all applications with minimal vibration and tilting.
The LHT type balance valve has a simple damping structure, while the LHDV type balance valve has superior damping performance. Both models are particularly suitable for use in our proportional multi-way valve PSL/PSV control systems.
