80E08系列 German E+H Endeshaus mass flow meter: Promass is the series name of E+H mass flow meters. 80/83 refers to the transmitter, which is the model number of the meter head. The 83 is more advanced than the 80, such as having a 4-line display, Chinese menu, etc., and its accuracy is also slightly higher than that of the 80.

E+H Endress+Hauser Mass Flow Meter (Germany)

80E08 Basic Concepts:

·Promass is the series name for E+H mass flow meters. 80/83 refers to the transmitter, also known as the meter model. The 83 is more advanced than the 80, for example, it has a 4-line display, can have a Chinese menu, and its accuracy is slightly higher than the 80. • The order number can be found on the transmitter nameplate, such as 80M50-AS2BAAAAA8. Here, 80 is the transmitter model, M refers to the sensor model (there are many sensor types, such as the common F-type, M-type, H-type, I-type, etc., each with its own characteristics; the F-type meets the needs of at least 80% of applications), 50 refers to the pipe diameter, and the following string of characters is the specific order number, each with its own meaning, such as whether it's a separate or integrated unit, the material of the measuring tube, etc., all determined by this string of characters.

• When setting up an 80 transmitter, you basically need to consider the following: the units of each variable (especially the units of mass flow rate and density), the range of the output variable (i.e., the upper and lower limits of the range corresponding to 4-20mA), and what variables need to be displayed on the two lines of the display.

How to perform simple setup of a new German E+H mass flow meter 80E08 to make it work:

First, press the E key to enter the settings. The screen displays MEASUREING VALUES (current measurement value). Press the + key twice to display QUICK. SETUP (Quick Setup): Press E to enter.

Under QS-COMMISION, change the option from NO to YES (indicating quick setup is required), and press E to proceed.

Under LANGUAGE, ENGLISH will be displayed. No changes are needed; press E to proceed.

Under PRE-SETTING, ACT. SETTING will be displayed. No changes are needed; press E to proceed.

Under SYSTEM UNITS, MASS FLOW will be displayed. Press E to proceed. If t/h (mass flow rate in tons per hour) is displayed, ask the field personnel whether to use tons per hour or kilograms per hour. If kilograms per hour, use the + or - key to change it to kg/h, and press E to proceed.

Under UNIT TOTALIZER, t (cumulative mass flow rate in tons) will be displayed. Ask the user if they want to change it to kilograms, and press E to proceed.

Under OTHER UNIT? (Are there any other units to set?), select YES and press E to proceed.

In SYSTEM... Under UNITS, the default is VOLUME FLOW. Press the + key three times (the option will start flashing after the first press, press it twice more) to display DENSITY. Press the E key; DENSITY will stop flashing. Press the E key again. Under UNIT DENSITY, check if the unit is kg/m³. If yes, press the E key to proceed; otherwise, change it to kg/m³ and press the E key to proceed.

The screen will then display OTHER UNIT? (Does the device have other units to set?). Change the YES option to NO using the + key (do not set other units), and press the E key to proceed.

For the German E+H Endershaus mass flow meter 80E08, under MEASURING MODE, the default option is STANDARD (meaning it measures in both positive and negative directions). No modification is needed; press the E key to proceed.

Under SELECT OUTPUT, the default is CURRENT OUTPUT. 1 (Current Output 1: The default is usually one current output with HART protocol and SIL safety certification. However, in some specific situations, orders may specify two current outputs, such as both density and mass flow rate. This needs to be clarified beforehand. If unsure, check the "+" or "-" keys under this option to see if "CURRENT OUTPUT 2" is available. If not, it means it wasn't ordered. If it is, ask the user if they want to use it to output variables. Note: CURRENT OUTPUT...) Current output 1 (current output 1) can be set to a 4mA value, while current output 2 cannot. Therefore, if current output 2 is used, it can only output mass flow rate, meaning 4mA corresponds to a flow rate of 0, and 20mA corresponds to the upper limit, such as 15000 kg/h. Current output 1 generally corresponds to density values. The density value of limestone slurry in desulfurization processes is generally a lower limit (4mA) of 1000 kg/m³, and an upper limit (20mA) of approximately 1500 or 1600 kg/m³. Specific values need to be obtained from the on-site personnel. Press E to advance.

In ASSIGN CURRENT, check if the default option is DENSITY. If it is, press E to advance. If not, press + or - to find DENSITY, press E to confirm, and then advance.

In CURRENT SPAN, the default option is 4-20mA HART NAM. No modification is needed; press E to advance.

In VALUE... At 0-4mA, input the lower limit of density using the + or - keys (confirm with the field operator, generally 1000 kg/m³), then press E to advance.

For the German E+H mass flow meter 80E08, at VALUE 20mA, input the upper limit of density using the + or - keys (confirm with the field operator), then press E to advance.

In TIME CONSTANT mode, the default is 1 second; ignore this and press E to advance.

In FAILSAFE MODE mode, the default is MIN. CURRENT; ignore this and press E to advance.

In OTHER OUTPUT? (Are there other outputs?), this is where you need to check how many current outputs there are. If there is current output 2, select YES. Under SELECT OUTPUT, select CURRENT OUTPUT 2. Under ASSIGN CURRENT, select MASS LOW. VALUE... Enter the upper limit of the range at 20mA. After inputting, it will return to OTHER OUTPUT; select NO. If two current channels are not used on-site, select NO here. Press E to advance to the next step. After BACK TO MENU, it will jump back to QS-COMMISION. The setting is complete. Press the + and - keys together to return to the menu.

At this point, the instrument can measure normally. However, the screen display needs some modification. For example, the first line displays the density value, and the second line displays the mass flow rate, or the first line displays the mass flow rate, and the second line displays the cumulative amount. You need to ask the user how they want the display to be displayed.

In measurement mode, press E to enter the menu. MEASURING VALUES will be displayed. Press the + key about 5 or 6 times until USER INTERFACE is displayed. Press E to enter.

In ASSIGN LINE... In step 1 (assigning the first line of display content), use the + or - keys to find the variable the user wants. There are many options; you might need to ask the user which one to use: DENSITY, TOTALIZER 1 (accumulator 1, which is the accumulated mass flow rate), MASS FLOW (mass flow rate), and VOLUME FLOW (volume flow rate). After finding the desired variable, press E to confirm. It will then display "ENTRY STORED" (modifications have been saved); ignore this, it's just a prompt. It will then revert to ASSIGN LINE 1 (the first line of display variables, now modified to the variable you just selected). Press E to advance, and it will display ASSIGN LINE 2 (assigning the second line of display content). Similar to step 1, it will ask the user what they want to display. Once found, press OK, and then it will display FORMAT (format, i.e., the number of decimal places). No need to modify this; press E to advance.

DISPLAY DAMPING (displaying damping), the default is 5 seconds; no need to modify this; press E to advance.

CONTRAST LCD (LCD screen contrast ratio): No need to modify, press E to advance;

BACKLIGH (backlight brightness): No need to modify, press E to advance;

TEST DISPLAY (test display): No need to modify, press E to advance; It will prompt "BACK TO MENU," then automatically return to the menu. At this point, the settings are complete. Press the + and - keys together to exit.
