Eltra encoders are devices that encode signals (such as bitstreams) or data and convert them into a signal form that can be used for communication, transmission, and storage. Encoders convert angular or linear displacement into electrical signals; the former is called a code disk, and the latter a code scale. Encoders can be divided into contact and non-contact types according to their readout method; and into incremental and absolute types according to their working principle. Incremental encoders convert displacement into periodic electrical signals, and then convert these electrical signals into counting pulses, using the number of pulses to represent the magnitude of the displacement. Each position of an absolute encoder corresponds to a specific digital code; therefore, its reading depends only on the starting and ending positions of the measurement, and is independent of the intermediate process.

Applications of Eltra Encoders
Eltra encoders are divided into absolute and incremental types. Currently, absolute encoders are approximately four times more expensive than incremental encoders. In the domestic market, 70% of applications use the relatively economical incremental encoders, primarily in industries such as packaging, textiles, and elevators, where only speed measurement and absolute position measurement requirements are low. However, in high-precision machinery and heavy industries like steel, ports, and cranes, where higher accuracy is required, absolute encoders are more commonly used. In these heavy industrial applications, the harsher working conditions necessitate higher requirements for encoder shock and vibration resistance.
With increasing automation in machinery, the application areas of encoders are expanding. Customers are no longer satisfied with encoders simply converting physical rotational signals into electrical signals; they demand higher integration, greater durability, and richer interface options for absolute encoders to enable more intelligent devices.
Currently, production safety and communication security are receiving increasing attention in the industrial market, and national standards are beginning to mandate product safety performance. Eltra encoders generate electrical signals that are processed by CNC (Computer Numerical Control System), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and control systems. These sensors are mainly used in machine tools, material processing, motor feedback systems, and measurement and control equipment. In ELTRA encoders, angular displacement conversion uses photoelectric scanning. The reading system is based on the rotation of a radial indexing plate, which consists of alternating transparent and opaque windows. This system uses a single infrared light source for vertical illumination, projecting the image on the disc onto the surface of a receiver covered with a grating called a collimator, which has the same window as the optical disc. The receiver's function is to sense the light changes caused by the disc's rotation and convert these changes into corresponding electrical changes. Generally, the rotary encoder also generates a speed signal, which is fed back to the frequency converter to adjust its output data. Fault symptoms: 1. When the rotary encoder is faulty (no output), the frequency converter cannot function properly, running very slowly, and after a while, it will activate protection, displaying "PG disconnected"... Only a combined action will work. To raise the electrical signal to a higher level and generate a square wave pulse without any interference, electronic circuitry is required. Encoder PG wiring and parameters: The connection method between the vector frequency converter and the encoder PG must correspond to the encoder PG model. Generally, encoder PG models are divided into three types: differential output, open collector output, and push-pull output. The signal transmission method must take into account the frequency converter PG card interface; therefore, selecting the appropriate PG card model or setting it correctly is crucial.
