ATOS piston pumps are divided into two types: pressure-fed and self-priming. Pressure-fed hydraulic pumps mostly use pressurized oil tanks, and some pumps have a built-in replenishing pump that supplies pressurized oil to the pump inlet. Self-priming hydraulic pumps have strong self-priming capabilities and do not require external oil supply. With pressurized hydraulic tanks, after each machine start-up, the hydraulic tank must reach the required pressure before operating the machinery. Starting the machine when the hydraulic tank pressure is insufficient can cause the slip plate inside the pump to detach, resulting in abnormal wear of the return plate and pressure plate within the pump body.

ATOS piston pumps with pressurized hydraulic tanks require that after each machine start-up, the hydraulic tank must reach the required pressure before operating the machinery. Direct-shaft swashplate piston pumps are divided into two types: pressure-fed and self-priming. Pressure-fed hydraulic pumps mostly use pressurized oil tanks, while some have a built-in replenishing pump that supplies pressurized oil to the pump inlet. Self-priming hydraulic pumps have strong self-priming capabilities and require no external oil supply. For self-priming piston pumps, the oil level in the hydraulic tank must not fall below the lower limit of the oil level gauge; a sufficient quantity of hydraulic oil must be maintained. The higher the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil, the longer the service life of the hydraulic pump.

ATOS Piston Pumps

ATOS piston pumps are an important component of hydraulic systems. They rely on the reciprocating motion of the pistons within the cylinder to change the volume of the sealed working chamber, thus achieving oil suction and pressure. ATOS piston pumps have advantages such as high rated pressure, compact structure, high efficiency, and convenient flow rate adjustment, and are widely used in high-pressure, high-flow, and flow-regulating applications, such as hydraulic presses, construction machinery, and ships.

The Italian ATOS piston pump is a type of reciprocating pump, belonging to the category of volumetric pumps. Its piston is driven by the eccentric rotation of the pump shaft, resulting in a reciprocating motion. Both its suction and discharge valves are one-way valves. When the piston is pulled outward, the pressure in the working chamber decreases, the outlet valve closes, and when the pressure is lower than the inlet pressure, the inlet valve opens, allowing liquid to enter. When the piston is pushed inward, the pressure in the working chamber increases, the inlet valve closes, and when the pressure is higher than the outlet pressure, the outlet valve opens, allowing liquid to exit. When the drive shaft rotates the cylinder block, the swashplate pulls the piston out of or pushes it back into the cylinder block, completing the suction and discharge process. The oil in the working chamber formed by the piston and cylinder bore communicates with the pump's suction and discharge chambers through a distribution plate. A variable displacement mechanism is used to change the swashplate angle; adjusting the swashplate angle changes the pump's displacement.
