Gas valves have a wide range of applications and are diverse in type, leading to various classification methods. They can be broadly categorized into two main types:

Type 1 Automatic Valves: Valves that operate automatically based on the gas's own power.

Oxygen Quick-Stop Valve

Oxygen Quick-Stop Valve

Examples include check valves, control valves, and pressure reducing valves.

Type 2 Driven Valves: Valves that are operated manually, electrically, or pneumatically. Examples include gate valves, globe valves, throttle valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, and plug valves.

In addition, valves can be classified in several ways:

Based on structural characteristics, according to the direction of movement of the closing element relative to the valve seat:

1. Gate Type: The closing element moves along the center of the valve seat.

2. Gate type: The closing element moves along the vertical center of the valve seat.

3. Plug and ball type: The closing element is a plunger or ball that rotates around its own center line.

4. Swing type: The closing element rotates around an axis outside the valve seat.

5. Disc type: The closing element is a disc that rotates around an axis inside the valve seat.

6. Slide valve type: The closing element slides in a direction perpendicular to the flow path.

Based on structural types, the main types are:

Plug valves, gate valves, globe valves, ball valves—used to open or close the flow of gas in pipelines. Check valves (including foot valves)—used to automatically prevent backflow of gas in pipelines.

Throttle valves—used to regulate the flow rate of gas in pipelines.

Pressure reducing valves—used to automatically reduce the gas pressure in pipelines and equipment. They work by creating resistance as gas passes through the gap in the valve disc, causing pressure loss and achieving pressure reduction.

Valves can be classified according to their application:

1. On/off valves: Used to connect or disconnect gas in pipelines, such as gate valves, ball valves, and butterfly valves.

2. Check valves: Used to prevent backflow of gas, such as check valves.

3. Regulating valves: Used to regulate the pressure and flow rate of gas, such as regulating valves and pressure reducing valves.

4. Distributing valves: Used to change the direction of gas flow and distribute gas, such as three-way stopcocks, distribution valves, and spool valves.

Based on the driving method, valves can be classified according to their driving method:

1. Manual: Driven by handwheels, handles, levers, or sprockets, etc. For transmitting larger torques, worm gears or gear reduction devices are used.

2. Electric: Driven by an electric motor or other electrical devices.

3. Pneumatic: Driven by compressed air.

Based on the connection method with the pipeline, valves can be classified as:

1. Flange-connected valves: Valves with flanges on the valve body, connected to the pipeline via flanges.

2. Threaded connection valve: A valve with internal or external threads for threaded connection to the pipeline.

3. Welded connection valve: A valve with a welded joint for welded connection to the pipeline.

4. Clamp connection valve: A valve with a clamp on the valve body for clamp connection to the pipeline.

5. Compression fitting connection valve: A valve connected to the pipeline using a compression fitting.

The German GSR gas valve is a new type of safety accessory for gas pipeline engineering. It is used to cut off, connect, and regulate gas in pipelines, possessing excellent control characteristics and sealing performance. It is suitable for pipelines carrying various gas media such as city gas, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, and oxygen.

Applications of German GSR Gas Valves (Edited)

Gas valves are widely used in urban gas supply networks for various gas media such as city gas, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, and oxygen. Actuation methods include manual, worm gear drive, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic actuators, enabling remote control and automated operation.
